NY - San Gil Accent Rug
The beauty of this hand braided accent rug starts with the material itself. Traditionally used to make bags for coffee or cocoa beans, fique is a natural fiber known for its durability and strength. Native to Colombia, this incredibly sustainable plant also requires very little water and is biodegradable.
Once the fique fiber is spun into ropes, master weavers then braid these intricate rug designs. The end result? A natural accent rug that’s so stunning, you’ll want one in every room.
Masterfully braided by hand in the mountains of Colombia, each rug takes 10 days to complete. All made start-to-finish in a fair trade environment.
We recommend using a rug pad to reduce slippage.
